in honour of Mother’s Day, we’re delighted to spotlight a truly special mother–daughter duo: the women behind If Only If.

founded in 2011 by Issy Falkner, If Only If began as a deeply personal pursuit; a desire to revive the timeless nighties she loved as a child, crafted in beautiful natural fabrics and made to last. nearly a decade later, her daughter Emily Campbell stepped in to lead the next chapter, thoughtfully reimagining the brand for a new generation while preserving its heart, heritage and sense of nostalgia.

Today, this family-owned label is defined by a slow, considered approach: small-batch production, seasonless design and an unwavering commitment to quality and comfort. Inclusive in size and quietly elegant in spirit, each piece embodies effortless ease. Most recently, the brand has found a permanent home on Elizabeth Street
- one of London’s most picturesque addresses - marking a new chapter
for this dreamy nightwear brand.

This month, we’ve asked Issy and Emily to share the everyday luxuries they hold dear.

what is your favourite moment in the day, and why does it feel so special?

Emily: When my children are asleep!
Issy: Going for a walk early and feeling the sun on my face

is there a daily ritual you return to that helps you feel calm or centred?

Emily: A bath with GROVE England bath oil and fresh sheets with an ironed nightie.
Issy:
Bath time with my favourite bath oil…bliss!

what is a scent that instantly transports you to another time or place?

Emily: My mum’s sarong from the beach that I used to sleep on during beach visits when we lived in Naples when I was a child - the smell was a mix of sunscreen and her and I can smell it still.
Issy:
‘Caleche’ by Hermes, my Mother’s scent

do you have a favourite flower and what draws you to them?

Emily: Cornflower. I adore the vibrancy of this little wildflower and had them woven into my hair for my wedding (and woven into the prints of my nighties!). A resilient yet achingly pretty little flower.
Issy:
Primrose as its the promise of spring

Which season do you feel most connected to, and why?

Emily: As a November baby I adore that cusp of Christmas time; such nostalgia in the rituals of lights going up, parties beginning and the change of a snowflake or two! Makes me feel like I'm a child every year.
Issy: Spring especially May - excitement of what is around the corner.

do you have a place that brings you peace?

Emily: Somerset where my parents live. The view out the back of their home is miles of open rolling countryside with fields of cows and rows of hawthorn hedges. In the distance you can see Glastonbury Tor and there is something quite mystical about the whole, ancient untouched scene. My shoulders drop every time I look at it.
Issy:  My home

is there a space in your home that you especially love?

Emily: We are renovating so I will have to let you know but I am carving out a bedroom of dreams (surprise surprise I LOVE bedrooms). A sanctuary is my dream.
Issy:  Bedroom

What is the luxury in your life that feels entirely non-negotiable?

Emily: Travel. I book all my holidays practically a year ahead. I've realised that I need to have pockets of time in front of me where I can focus, knowing that I can take my foot off the pedal. I think I would go mad without a little break to focus on!
Issy:
Clean sheets & nightie, hot bath

What feels most precious to you at this stage of your life?

Emily: I turn 40 this year and focusing on my health has only become a recent joy of mine. Good vitamins and pilates are the things that I'm really prioritising and it feels good.
Issy:
My ever expanding family

what does a comfort meal look like for you?

Emily: My mum’s spag bol (this feels entirely unoriginal but it is so true!)
Issy: Roast chicken

is there small sensory pleasure that brings you a moment of joy?

Emily: As a mother of small children and a busy, growing business there is no sound sweeter than a silent house! Silence truly is golden.
Issy: Oh so many - slipping into a clean nightie and bed. Early morning sun on my face. The smell of a new baby and of my grandchildren after a bath!

Is there a GROVE England product you return to again and again — how does it make you feel?

Emily:I'm addicted to baths (outrageously hot and deep only) and the Anemone Bath Oil is the stuff of undiluted joy. The smell lingers on your skin in such a gentle and delicious way too.
Issy:
 Anemone Bathing Duo - Yum!

is there something nostalgic that always lifts your mood?

Emily: I think everything I do with my business is rooted in nostalgia - it reminds us of a time of our lives that is safe and sweet - for me this is everything a nightie encompasses - it reminds me of time in bed reading books with my mum, pottering in the garden in the early morning summer sun with my granny. Nighties are nostalgic for home, family, closeness. It’s why I truly adore them.
Issy: Music, laughter and playing cards!
